The photo shows the wear at the front of the liner half way down, there's a stiff cable or line inside which leads to a bulge in the liner....

My vote would also be for the Michelin A/S 4 ZP tires.
If you drive your car in cold or wet weather up there, you will have a much better experience with the A/S tire.
I have even tracked them...
