That'll be the white K&N with the nut welded on the end...nearly ripped mine off too on a plastic speed hump. The black K&N filter without the nut is fine.

They were built so you could adjust the ride height yourself and reduce the enormous fender gaps after they came off the rail cars.

The K&N filter with the nut sits lower than the oil pan....

Take the shrouds off and use some duct tape on the inside. You'll have to take the shrouds off to adjust the lights in the future but it only takes seconds.
