Re: Does anybody race their C4 on open headers ? (mvabob)

I didn't race my C4 with open headers, but I race my 1996 Impala SS with the stock LT1 with open headers all the time. So far my results show a 2 mph and 2 tenth gain over the stock catback with the...

Re: power flushing transmissions???? (lowflyer)

I have had this done twice on my 96 4L60E and have no problems. I think that it's well worth it and my car shifts very good with just having the line pressure bumped up a bit. The local Chevy dealer...

Re: CARTEK C5 PIG RUNS 10.99 @ 125.7 MPH (DINO)

Mark I was there racing my Impala SS and I watched you make a few passes. You guys are crazy with those Corvettes. Congrats on those passes with the combo you have. Keep up the good work and i'm sure...

Re: gm vortec heads (needanother1)

Friend of mine did a set a few months ago. Some effort was put into them, but no angle milling or anything that crazy like that was done on them. The intake flowed 280cfm at .500" lift, not sure on...

Re: 160 thermostat and no chip yet , what will happen? (vader86)

I would install a manual fan switch until you get the programming change. I have the correct programming but still have the manual switch. Your t-stat will just work alot more since the fans won't...

Re: Who wants to be a QUICK 4 SPONSOR? (REDGAR)

I got it. This will surely prove to be the best rule for this Quick 4.

Here it is:
Place a mustard covered hot dog on each racers dashboard before the run and it cannot be touched until you...

Re: Who wants to be a QUICK 4 SPONSOR? (95CYC4)

I would worry about safety with the more powerful cars having to run street tires though. Just a thought after I mentioned this idea already. So if this does happen, please be very careful with the...

Re: Who wants to be a QUICK 4 SPONSOR? (mackeyred96)

Funny about the guys with money not reading this yet, must be

I think that the street tire rule would be the easiest to enforce since you can have anyone who knows anything about tires...

Re: Who wants to be a QUICK 4 SPONSOR? (95CYC4)

I almost forgot. I would sponsor the Quick 4 if the street tire rule was used. I am also sure to think of some other way to make this alot more fun and have a bigger turn out, just give me a few days.

Re: Who wants to be a QUICK 4 SPONSOR? (REDGAR)

I like the idea of the personnal gamblers race, and I hope that you would let the non Corvettes race in that. The Quick 4 is great also, but you have to have a decent turn out of the 10 or 11 second...

Re: 02 sensor numbers (Kehrer923)

The numbers that I refer to are at WOT. I don't know what good idle numbers would be.

Re: By-Pass Cats? Yes or No? (silver & red CE)

Here is some of my own test data from my 96 LT1(OBD I conversion).

Re: 02 sensor numbers (Kehrer923)

Some guys like to be a little above 900, but 800-900 is very good. You are right where you want to be, so I would keep the settings you have.

Re: 10.78@125mph vs a 170 mph Dragster at etown 8-7. (onefast99)

It really makes fast cars look slow when you race a faster car like that. I know since I ran a guy who went 8.114 @ 163.24 mph, he had a 1.161 60', 133 mph in the 1/8th. This was my best pass as...

Re: New catback, now it cuts out in 1st and 2nd under WOT (94lt1torchred)

If you solved your problems with a tank of 94 you got some serious issues that I would look into before any racing is done. This sounds like you got knock, for whatever reason. Installing the LT4...

Re: Anyone know what is actually different on LT1 - LT4 cat back exhaust? (yellovett)

96 was the first year for OBD II, and there is another O2 sensor after the cats, for a total of 4. That should be mounted in the tubing after the cat, not the exhaust pipe that hooks into the cat. So...
