Default Is the C7 cockpit large enough to fit me?

I read a C7 review today that noted the drivers seat and leg room area will be too small for a "large man" [which the author defined to be a man 6 foot 2 or larger]. I am 6 foot 1 inch. Can anyone comment on this and explain the available leg room with the seat adjusted all the way to the rear. Thank you.

Lotta variables concerning your body shape and weight. Ever been in a C6?

No, But how does it compare to the 911 drivers cockpit?

The dimensions are the same as a C6 except the leg room is 1/10" shorter on a C7. So if you fit in a C6 you will be fine in a C7. I am 6'5" so I checked this out before I ordered.Hope this helps.

People say it's the same size cabin as a C6, but I'm 5'10'' ish and 220 ( I know, I need to loose a little ), but I felt it was smaller and I did not fit in it. I sugest you sit in one before buying it. I'm just waiting for all these people that bought one before sitting in it to say oh...it does seem smaller and I don't like it.

5 minutes on google...

2013 911:

Headroom: 38"
Shoulder room: 52"
Hip room: 53"
Leg room: 41.6"

2014 C7:

Headroom: 37.9"
Shoulder room: 55.2"
Hip room: 53.7"
Leg room: 43"

Both have electrically adjustable tilt/telecope steering wheel.

Next question.

A friend of mine who is a retired GM employee(management) and also a Corvette owner, sat in a C7 at Road America and he said it was a tighter fit than a C6 or C5. And he is a typical size man of around 5' 10"/5' 11" and 190-200 pounds. He could tell the difference.

The dimensions are same as C6,the C7 may feel tighter because of the way the cockpit wraps around driver.

I honestly believe this is the most accurate assessment of perceived cockpit "tightness". It is much more of a wraparound, airplane cockpit feel.

It's funny how many times I've heard car interiors described this way, but I don't ever recall being in an aircraft cockpit that actually resembled a car that attempted to mimic an airplane.

Maybe you've never been in one of these...I think there's a fair amount of influence on the C7 design.

I'm 6'6" and felt that I had more room in the C7 than in my C6's. You'll fit.

The fact that you did not fit in it, tells me that you didn't have the seat adjusted properly.

At 6'2" you should be fine. I am 6'4". Legroom was OK, but the seat is limited in its recline capacity....I couldn't push back far enough from the wheel (lean back). This was after trying about 7 of them at Carlisle. GM Engineers there admitted this was a complaint and problem they have recognized and are trying to change something in an electronic control or limit to solve the problem. It all depends on how you drive (the position....I have to lean back to get my back comfortable). My C6 has more room and is more comfortable. GM please help us big guys out! Other than this, I like the C7 and would buy a 2015.
