I haven't gotten a ton of stupid comments and questions yet..one co-worker asked how much I bought it for, then guessed 2k. I didn't bother saying anything else.

Other co-worker gives me a lot of crap for my Vette, mostly just jokes around..but I could write a book with all of the crap she's said about my car. All in good fun, though.

When someone says something stupid, they usually mean no harm. I don't tend to correct them or argue with them, just accept their compliment and move on.

My co-workers know it is an 88, but think I paid 30K for it. I never told anyone how much I paid for it.

yes, I remember most of those threads. One of those guys was offended and sent me a PM saying he had more Corvette knowledge than me. "I'm not a noob"

i had a girl in the passenger seat of an S2000 ask me what year my car was. when i replied '92 she laughed and smacked her BF in the driver seat and turned back to me and said "he thought it was a 2005 i knew he was wrong."

i havnt heard anything too bad.
mail-man said hes never seen a corvette thats hood flipped forward.
alot of people have asked me if its new, an 09, 08?
one guy asked me if it was a 64.
iv had people takes guesses on what iv paid, anywhere from 20-50k.
iv had people ask me if its fast.
iv had people in trucks, hondas, escalade, pretty much everything challenge me to races.

The one I get the most is at the gas station "how can you afford to drive that thing with gas prices so high? How can you afford to keep fuel in that thing? Whats it get, like 8mpg?"
Most people think I'm lying when I tell them it gets 26mpg all day long. Or I look at what they are driving and say it gets better mpg than yours.
Or all the late model V6 mustangs revving their motor at the lights.

I was at a local cruise in, and a guy came up to my buddy and asked about buying his car, an older tbird. Something came up about my car, and,

I said: Yep, it's mine, want to buy it?

He said: No, my wife is satisfied with the size of my ****.

If I were smart, or quick witted, I'd have said: Not what she told me.

But, I was taken so off guard by the stupid comment, I just let it drop.

Ahhh, just remebered another comment. Had my hood open at a show and a guy accused me of having a nameplate made up saying GRAND SPORT on the throttle body of my LT4. So tried explaining the story behind the LT4. He replys "nope" "thats not true, your wrong, they only came in the Grand Sports". Grabs his girlfriend/wife and struts off with his nose in the air. Me and my buddy just stood there shaking our heads, not even worth trying to convince people like that.

I have yet to get any stupid comments or questions. Most around here seem to be fairly knowledgable. It often make the comment .. why do people stare at my old 87 Chevy ??

The only guy who gives me a hard time is a friend who loves older hot rod types of cars. I take it in jest always. I give him a hard time about his cars too ..

But, it seems we ( those on here ) have the old I have a rare 83 vette or hear of one often.

But to me, the C4 is a great car and I love mine because, well she is mine

Leaving a car show a young guy says to his girlfriend," wow look at that 82 vette, that thing is sure clean" Then he said to me, "nice 82 man" I told him it was a 92 and his girl just laughed at him.
