C4 midyear of the future part 2
After reading five pages from my last thread we will start fresh.I owned 63 roadster 70 roadster 71 big block 72 lt1 73 roadster 76 t top l82 all running good driver cars.I sold three this winter got 89 coupe the younger gen teens and early 20's could care less about 63 "midyears" or chrome bumper sharks most not knowing the value liked the 76 the best.I agree I am 40 I grew up loving the stingrays and was in all of the c4 it was so futuristic.I like c1 but I would never buy one unless they become a lot cheaper to me they are parade car.It would be interesting to see what cars the young gen like not knowing the current pricing or dads influence.I think you would be surprised.

To be brutely honest, i don't care what the kids of today think of my vette, nor do i care if it will be worth anything in the future(hell by the time i'm done with it It'll be all worn out). I bought this car for me, i'm happy with it and that's all that matters.

I agree I do not care if the kids today like it or not I just was shocked the way they are in to it more then the C2 and c3.I had a 84 I sold in 95 And getting back in to C4 I was shocked at how the public responded to them since I sold my 84.Just seems like they are getting a lot of looks more then I remember.

That Crossfire 84 might be like a 63 fuel injection or something like that and 96 grand sport might be like the 67 big block and so on..ch@os it just fun talk that's all. If we had a crystal ball looking into the future what cars will be hot C4, new Challenger , Mustang etc..

The way they do that, is by demand, and the price they charge to sell.
So now that you have 2 threads about the c4 mid year, I will say you started the trend. Thanks for raising the value of my c4 as little.
And now I wish I had an 84' to sell, and use the money to buy a 63' split window instead.
George Washington will always be more famous than George Bush, the same applies to the muscle cars compared to sports cars.

I was just watching a 84 on ebay it was bid up to over $24000. did not met reserve it was the A team 84 not bad for a old crossfire.I think a nice yellow 86 pace cars will still bring mid to low teens that is on my future wish list.

I come from a background of japanese cars and the young guys in that genre really dont' care for C4's. To them, Corvettes were only good when the 97's came out. I personally think that is because that was the car that came out when they were in high school. For me, the 92+ is the stuff, because it was the big dog when I was in high school.
I often find though, that many of the younger guys have never been in a C4...or any corvette for that matter. There's a lot of hate and it's pretty boring honestly. People hate things they know nothing about and it goes both ways.
I've personally had the chance to own/build 400+whp Honda's, drive new STi's and Evo's, had three VERY fast 90-94 DSM's and now I have this car. I will say, that while this car isn't the fastest car I've owned, nor the best handling, this car's overall package in stock form is impressive. The balance, the immediate torque and the comfort of this car is amazing to me. In addition, my car still pulls on my friends 40k STi he just got (and gets better mpg doin it) and based on our runs on the NorthTrack at Beaverun he wasn't catchin me either. The C4's are great cars, they still hold their own and do the Corvette name justice despite being 20years old.
I don't care who likes it though, cause I freakin LOVE it. Every moment I'm driving it I feel lucky and happy to be alive.

C4 and the aerovette share the emblem and maybe I'm wrong but, I think that would be it.
There is nothing aero about our Corvettes, let's get real on this people. It's a C4 and we love the clamshell hood but, it will never be call "clamshell".

I don't totally disagree. about the Crossfire 84
But the 90 is the most unique C4 out there. (I'll get to the ZR1 later)
It is the ONLY one that has elements from all years combined into one. The only one.
round tail lights. L98 and the updated interior. The interior was again updated but the changes were minimal. yes sir the 90 may be one of the most unique C4's and will bring the most money in 50 years. i'll bet you on that one.
Now then for the truly unique C4. The ZR1, needs no justification. The GS doesn't either. they will always be a more popular C4 with people who know vettes.
The LT1 not so much. the LT4, will be another prime example of a C4 that will be in demand at some point. the thing will run with the C5 anytime, anywhere and they only built it one year.
Now then why do some people like the C4 or any vette for that matter but other people couldn't care less?
it's all in what their interests are. Some people are car people and some aren't. Some people are vette people and others aren't. Some people are both.
Some younger folks would take a C4 or C5 over the 63 because they don't truly understand what it is. They didn't live that era. Just like some cars I'm not that fond of but were the and are a big deal to others.
The true car and vette people know what they are and that's who are interested in them period end of story. IMO
