we ran them at .025 when road racing corvettes back in the 50s and 60s because we had to run the stock stamped rocker arms

the original GM specs for the 30-30 cam WAS .025-.025 but i think the engine vacuum at that lash setting caused problem with FI engines.

just remember to get accurate back to back dyno tests the oil temp has to be with in 2 degrees and the fuel temp must be with in 5 degrees. 20 degrees difference in oil temp can show 15/20 HP

if you have the oil filter bypass valve blocked the oil pressure will come up slower because the oil is not bypassing the oil filter and it take a few seconds for the oil to get thru the filter BUT...

the orignal valve lash for the 346 "30-30" cam was .025 but with this lash setting there was not enought vacuum for the GM FI unit to operate properly so GM changed it to .030
