Also, engine oil check revealed nothing other than it being about a quart low color and texture ok on dipstick. It's still got the break in oil in it.

Going to change oil and do compression...

I reinstalled my distributor correctly. The oil pump shaft fit very snugly into the end of the dizzy, and i didn't have it seated all the way down.
