I am on my third battery in the 15 months I owned my car. I went with the Optima Yellow Top enough is enough. Getting a battery tender this week to help it through the winter.

My Tahoe does this when its wet out. I sprayed the tensioner with WD40 and it goes quiet. I guess WD40 would be a good way to narrow down your problem as well.

On colder days (40-45 degrees) If I take my 01 out when its not at normal operating temp. it pops out of 2nd. If I let it warm up it doesnt. Just another annoyance.
