corvette recall steering column lock at speed?
check out this link to the Detroit free press regarding the steering column lock.
I found the part about locking up at speeds btwn 5 and 65 mph kind of disturbing.... yikes!

Glad to read that article concerning the 344 compalints to the NHTSA about locking up while moving between 5 mph & 65 mph. Sorry about the 25 accidents & 10 injuries. GM said they received no complaints. Does not seem this recall will solve the problem though & hope the NHTSA keeps after GM on it.

Thanks for the post dupe or not. Ive been away from the board for the winter (as my Z06 hibernates) and came back to check on this as I heard about this through family.

Here is an update on the column lock recall. I brought my car in for an oil change and mentioned that I saw a recall coming out on the steering column lock. My dealer told me they cannot do anything unless they receive notice of an actual recall, OR if my car actually locked up. They checked it out and found nothing wrong and asked my to stand by when and if any recall comes up.
