I did have a car once that kind of made the sound you are talking about, one of the lines was not bolted down and the vibration could be heard in the cabin.

Check for a leak at the power booster, I have a leak there...

Is there a special dipstick tube for LT1's or will any SBC work?

Mine bent getting headers off and I need to replace, saw Autozone has one for any SBC.

Geez, I thought MSD took care of that problem. Check w/MSD, they were replacing those that failed, because of screws backing out.
