The only way they can race a ZO6 they don't own is to either rent a ZO6 and race that car, or race a ZO6 someone else owns but who doesn't rent it, or steal a ZO6 and race that car. Did I miss any...

It certainly does have something to do with automatic transmissions. People who don't track their ZO6 could easily view transmission choices differently than those who do track their ZO6.
