So you're ok with technically incorrect...I'm beginning to understand your posts now.

I have no problem with occasionally using phonetic spelling.

In what way?

Regarding my reading the posts hers, you responded in post #187 (my post was #190)..."Because Z06's aren't usually seen at the drag strip....What a load of crap." It appears this was in reply to Michael A's post about the track. So it makes complete sense to ask you about the track. Get it??

Since you didn't answer my question, it's obvious you don't think it makes any sense. My question is a subset of your question so that means your question doesn't make any sense yet you expect people to answer it. I've seen you ask the exact same question in many threads now and never get an answer...the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Yes, we get it...unfortunately for us you don't.

After the z06 hits the streets..the c7 z51 will up the hp in the standard vette with the A8 to 496 hp

No c7 z06 with an automatic.

IMHO I'm sure the 496 hp stingray with theA8 will be amazing.

I have a 2013 Z06 and love it. I will say I will be the first one in line to order a 2015 automatic Z06.. I'm tired of shifting.

Hmm putting auto in z06 making them into drag racing cars in peoples minds is rubbish.

Almost every high end car out now Ferrari,Lambo ,etc have auto option. Many have no full manual option anymore. And once again going to say "auto " even if its a DCT technically its got the capability to autoshift then don't care really if its clutch type but with no clutch pedal or toque converter style auto.

Do we think of Ferrarii and Lambo as 1/4 mile dragstrip cars? The new 911 turbos and GT3s?
Of course not . The GTR and many other high end sports cars?

There is zero reason for GM not to offer auto shifting option in the z06 and zr1. There is in fact every reason to offer it and nothing at all wrong with offering both full manual and auto shifting option this should please everyone and is simply good marketing.
The supposed snob appeal of having only a full manual car loses potential buyers.

I did not buy a viper as it has no automatic option. I almost bought a new c7 base because it did offer auto option and at least has hill assist in it if did choose to go manual. I did buy an auto SL55 and auto 911 turbo recently. And believe me I don't see either of those cars as a 1/4 mile drag car . Sure might take them to track and run them couple of times but it won't be a regular thing. And might take them autocrossing or other type of track possibly but again will be pretty rare event. Generally you have zero insurance at a track. Guy totalled his new z06 few years back at local track. NO INSURANCE!

I think vast majority buying corvettes are buying them for the street and think that maybe aside from a bit of autocross most guys are not doing much of any type of tracking with them. So give people choices give them full manual and auto shifting options. And if you had to chose one or the other at least you can shift the auto shifting transmissions manually if you want to. With no clutch pedal of course though.
Time for the big three domestics to get auto options.. Z06 and Zr1, Viper and GT500.
Sounds like both Corvette and GT500 have hill assist at least now. And Dodge has it in the Challenger and their trucks so would think it would be in the 2015 viper maybe or at least 2016. And read where SRT was going to put auto option in the viper in the future thought it said near future. and if Viper and Corvette z06 and zr1 have autos then would think Ford would follow suit in the GT500. They did offer Autos in the Supercharged Saleens.

The Viper might not be an option in the future! Production is currently 6 per day, and there is talk of a production stoppage once again.

It comes from the early days of the automatic when it really was a great loss in power transfer. The modern torque conv. changed that.

I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if this is the case and the Z models end up with sticks only. What a disappointment that would be. IMO if they don't go DCT then it's a waste of what could have been an amazing car.

No respectable track car these days runs stick. Hell Ferrari and Lamborghini are phasing sloshy sticks out (see how that flips now days) all together.

I get that shifting has it's allure but no human on earth can shift even close to as fast as a DCT. GM is producing the Z to be a track car from the factory... Then don't beat around the bush and put a real track trans in it.

In reality if they wanted to stay with the performance mindset and only wanted to offer a single trans option in the Z they would drop the stick and only offer a DCT.

I hope your kidding me. Oh wait never mind are you of dem der NASCAR fans? Or did you just forget not even Corvette runs a stick in the C6R. Wait maybe other teams run manuals? Oh no they don't. Ah I know... Formula 1 runs... Oh wait that's where the DCT came from. I mean maybe quarter mile cars run.. Gah! Nevermind they all run autos or the fastest run a single gear clutch pack setup. Notice something trending here? All of the fastest cars in the world run some type of direct drive electronically shifted trans or in top fuel case nothing but clutches.

Remember though I and apparently the entire racing world are all idiots you are a bright one.

Dave and his manual vs the world! Weeeee

yeah I guess comparing $700,000+ vehicles with $40,000 transmissions that are rebuilt every race against a sub $100k street car is a smart way of thinking.. smh

I need an Auto style trans due to my Bum right shoulder, also I love to drag race and a good fast shifting auto is hard to beat.. Come on GM at least make it an option.
