In my case the problem was that the seller sold me a chinese clone. I did not get it to work properly on the scanning functions. Send trhe unit back and bought aused one from a GM dealer. All works...

Problem solved. The batterie was broken. When i tried to start the car, the engine did not start, so i had to jump start it.
Then i tried to turn on the lights and i got the above mentioned problem...
