Thank you guys!
Yes, the Navigation System works in Germany. Two steps you need to do: First delete all saved previous addresses in the Navi system. Then insert a Euro Navi DVD and you are ready to go!
Robvette, i was born close to K-Town. However, moved to Munich a few years ago. I am still sometimes in the area when visiting my family there...
ruxvette, Munich - Stuttgart is about 2 hours...

For two-plus years; i have been using version 5.0c which i have purchased from GM site and no longer available.
BTW...Jochen, I lived in Munich from 1988-1990 while station in the US Army. It's a beautiful city and i love the autobahn route from Munich to Garmisch.
I make the assumption that you are a member of the Corvette Club Bayern. In May 2013, i ran into them at Garda Lake, Italy.
If time permits; check out upcoming events:
30 Aug / 1 Sep Corvette 60th Anniversary in France: This is something for this year that the Corvette Club of France is putting together.
01 September 2013 Speyer Museum Benzin und Frühschoppen – Cars and Coffee
08. Sep. 2013 Corvette-Meeting at Meilenwerk Stuttgart Meilenwerk Stuttgart
05. – 06. October US Car Show Metzingen: Great US Car Show near Stuttgart, held every 2 years. LOTS of folks and US cars, music, food and fun! This is one of those 'every 2 year' events, so don't miss this years!

That is good to know about the NAV. I'm hoping to work over there again someday (I was in the military at Flugplatz Spangdahlem in the Eifel from 86-88 and 93-99, now I'm a civilian for the USAF).
So what speed did you have it up to already (250-300kmh I'm guessing).

Thanks Sarah!
Rob, i am using an older Version for the Nav. I guess its from 2009. Still OK, i dont use it so often. I will update soon, but no need to hurry on that.
It is very important that you delete all previous stored and saved addresses in the Nav system. If you dont do so, the system will not work because it will search stored addresses and will never find US based addresses with a Euro Nav DVD!
I hope i can attend on a few more Corvette meetings this year. Still very bussy on work and private projects... Lets see...
Rsssguy, shure, will register there!
phileaglesfan, i was staitioned at a german military air base at the same time. Maybe you heard about Pferdsfeld (ETSP), a few miles southeast of Spangdahlem?
I was there from 1990 to 1994 working on the Tower as a military air traffic controller. We had quite some F16 from Spang. In Pferdsfeld we had the old F4F Phantom and i was there when we got the first MiG29 after german reunification in the early 90´s. What a time that was.... MiG29´s playing with F15 from the USAF....
I havent speed up to Vmax so far. 250-260 km/h (160MPH) was the maximum until know. The car is much more stable than my 97 C5 (which i still keep and probably will never sell...) And above 130MPH much more power.

May I ask?
Is this a stock GS?
Any engine mods?
Like that max speed
you got so far.
Thx ahead!

Yes, the car is all stock, no mods.
A stock GS with 6 Speed, NPP, Z16 and GU2 will have a Vmax of about 190MPH. At 160MPH the car shows a lot of power to go faster. Most BMW, Mercedes and Audi are limited to 155MPH. Some, with the limiter taken of the PCM may run 170 or 180MPH.

You are welcome!
After the first few thousand miles: This car ROCKS! Really love it!
GM made a true masterpiece with the 2012 Centennial Edition. Beside the anoying "tire scrubbing on very low speed turns when cold", the car is perfect.

that is an interesting front license plate holder. Could you take some more pics of it and where did you get it? Cost? and do you think it would work for an American size plate?

Yes, Alpenstrasse is the correct spelling. Great roads here in the mountains!
I searched the Forum for that scrubbing noise the front rubber makes on low speed turns, especially when its cold. Looks like many cars with wide front tires are doing this. So i stopped worrying about it, forgot the low speed turns and enjoyed the high speed turns....
Mica, the front license plate holder is custom made from SMC to fit the angle and size of the stock GS bumper. A friend from the german corvetteforum made this one to fit my license plate size. The license plate i have is a bit smaller than regular german plates, but still a DIN (german industrial norm) size.
After painting, the holder is fixed from inside to the bumber. So no visual screws or bolts, all clean setup. I really love it and it Looks like it came like that from the factory.
This guy did some nice Body kits, mods and lighting mods on C5, and C6 Corvettes. Ask him if he can do something for you: http://www.idp-corvette.de/
The Webpage is in german, but you can email him from there in english.

Jochen, thanks. Went to the web site and review it. Great site. Saw some more pics of the hold and will look at doing something here in the States. Enjoy your time in Germany. Great place. I spent 3 years in the Netherlands and 4 years in Spain with the USAF. Gas has got to be out of this world $$$$ now. Enjoy our Vette
