Default My 2012 Grand Sport Centennial arrived in Germany

Hi,

a few months ago we discussed my plan on buying a 2012 Grand Sport Centennial Edition and ship it to Germany.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...12-gs-z16.html

I was looking for a GS with the 6 Speed manual gearbox, HUD and Navigation System. Well, it wasnt so easy to find a manual.... But with the help from Member "not08crmanymore" i finally found the right one for me. Bought it from De Nooyer Chevrolet in Albany, NY. Bob from Ken Fichtner send a few parts to convert the car to Euro specs. Then Beau from DeNooyer shipped the car to New Jersey. My shipping agent from germany arranged the container transport on a Vessel to Bremerhaven in Germany.

There i picked up the car and drove it to Werner Moll from www.corvetteproject.de

Werner did the technical modifications to pass TUV and federal inspection (e.g. amber turn signal lamps in the rear, amber side marker lamps etc., etc.)

After taxation, customs, TUV, technical and emissions inspection i got all required documents to register the car and drive it legaly in germany.

Thanks to all who helped me on that project, especially to "not08crmanymore", Werner, Alex, Oliver and Ingo (he made the custom licenseplate frame in the front).

Will posts some pics soon...

Best Regards,

Jochen

Pleasure to hear of a plan well laid out and executed.
Having experience in moving vehicles from one side of the pond to the other, I know the stress involved, and the specs update headache once it gets there....
Well done brother! And kuddos to "not08" for the assist!

Congratulations on your CE. I also have one and it's the best vette I've ever owned. Someone started a registry on here about a month ago for the CE cars. Really cool to think one of these special cars found its way all the way to Germany. Enjoy!

Thank you guys!

Here a few pics i made. The 2012 Grand Sport Centennial Edition is really a very nice piece of art chevy build. Hard to find place for improvements. Maybe a bit lower, thats it....

Years ago when I was at the Rhinefels Castle I looked down and saw a Corvette leaving the parking lot.......I wanted to be driving that car along the Rhine River, through the Black Forest, etc. etc.

I'm glad your dream came true.....congratulations!
