Mine has the same issue, I believe it may be a issue with the Blend doors/ actuators. I cut the AC on for a few minutes and blow the hot air out of the floor vent.
Hopefully some else will comment...

I have a vert, but if the headliner is like the one in my 99 olds the cloth is okay, the issue is the foam backing has turned to dust.
What I do is go get some headliner material ( JoAnn Fabrics)...

I think a used part vendor should chime in. I have seen used one's in the parts for sale section.
Some times garage queens get wrecked and the tops are like new.

Mine did the same thing. I bought whole mirrow asm from a junk yard for $150 and snapped ot the mirrow.
Still cheaper than buying new from the dealer.

Just compare a 99 caddy's worth to a 99 vettes worth probally cost the about same new....

A new auto dim glass asm from dealer is about $225. I bought the whole mirror asm from a junk yard, snapped the glass out carefully, then replaced the smoked one.
You can just buy a non auto dim...
