Default Search Function ... inconsistent results

Instead of paging thru the past few weeks of threads, I just attempted to do a search on my username. The results I got back did not include two threads from 3/08 ... one of which I started. However, when I do a search on a 'term' (cowl trim), both posts from 3/08 come back. Is there some reason why not all posts are returned when doing a username search such as the one I described above? By the way ... this is in the C6 General Discussions Forum.

Is this still occurring? When I did a search by username, the following results appeared which I believe are both posts you're referring to as they're both from 3/8 and it does use the term cowl in it:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1580219734-post71.html

I found the above simply by doing a search by username:

And I confirmed them when I did an advanced search using "cowl" and then you as the author

These are the results I get when I do a search by username:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sear...rchid=28759562

These are the results I get when I do a search on "cowl trim"

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sear...rchid=28759587

As you can see from the above, the posts from 03/08 are not included in the username search, which in fact are the first two posts in the second link/search

Also ... I can not open the third link you posted ... has something to do with the IE9 double click issue most likely

Thanks for checking

Can you post a screen capture of the two examples showing the issue? Unfortunately, you cannot easily share searches so the links you posted are invalid.

Just jumping in here to say that I tried a username search with your name and both threads from 03-08 come up.

Curious if you tried using the My Recent Topics menu to search?

Interesting ... the two links I supplied worked when I saved them, but now they do not come up. I'll try to figure out how to get some screenshots to stick.

I usually don't use the "My Recent Topics" menu, but just did and all posts are there. Odd.

NB ... I can not get the multi-quote feature to work! Gotta love this IE9 BS.

Ok ... here is the screenshot when I do a username search within the C6 General Discussion forum

And here is the screenshot when I do a search on the term "cowl trim" from the same forum

Again ... notice how the 3/08 posts as seen in the 2nd screen shot do not appear in the 1st screen shot ... especially the 1st post which meets all the necessary criteria for inclusion in the username search (I started it!)

tks for your assistance

I didn't see your screen captures. It's possible there is an intermittent search engine issue. That said, here's mine just now which show the results that I believe you're reporting as missing, which is the same results I seen the first time:
