-Walbro 400lph pump (should be a Direct Drop in)
- Stainless Steel Exhaust Valves & New Valve Guides (This is most important for you)
- Dual Nozzle Meth Injection or E-85 (A Must at that boost level because 11-1 comp)
- Fluids
- Tune
- 3.25 8 rib pulley

That should all come in less then $3,000 to get to your desired power level if you install yourself.

At that boost level you should be around 850whp + or -

I am considering doin the heads and leaving the boost where it is tho along with a dual nozzle alky system. Buy me some time to save for a full forged system

personally i wouldnt push a 4 bolt block over 1000 rwhp...

plenty of LSX blocks have been fine.. only a few have had core shift issues. You only hear about failures though.. no one evers posts "40k miles on my LSX and no problems!"

Yeah I'm not chasing hp numbers. 800-900rwhp will be more than enough so prob leaning towards a resleaved ls7 block or rhs block.

you will look back at threads and see most people who started "not chasing a number" always ended up going for more.

rule of thumb is if you want 900 hp.. dont build for 900.. build for 1300...

You dont need a ls7 resleeve if your making 950-1000rw, Ask me how I know..

Not saying its not the way to go but if you plan on making 1500+ then go LSX iron..

A couple 800+whp stock short block LS7s here for the non believers.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ottom-end.html

If your goal is to stay under 1k whp in the long run, I would just do drop in pistons and use the stock forged titanium rods.

i made well over 800 on an 11:1 Ls3.. beat the dog **** out of it too.. but will it last like that? very UNlikely.. doing it and being reliable are 2 very different animals.

That's why I said to do pistons for long term.

When I do my set up it will be stock block and E85 until I have the funds for a built motor. Everyone on this board does not make $80K+ a year and can order a $15k built motor like they are ordering a pizza.

thought they had issues with cracking blocks with boost? id much rather slap a set of dished slugs n redo the heads then go full out on a build.

imteresting. couldnt see slugs, arp bolts n redone heads n stainless valves killing my budget. add dual nozzle alky meth system to already a combo or 93 n torco n use assume reliabilty. new to vettes but thought block cracking was very prominant in boosted engines about 10psi

No problems with cracked blocks that I herd of.

Here is a YSI V7 Z06 with just forged pistons and supporting mods.

800-1000 should live on a good tune/good gas with decent pistons. If you want 1000+ I would look at sleeves/lsx/rhs. For ~900 then what he is suggesting would work great.

I really don't think I have seen many disasters from over boosting a stock ls7 with all the good parts. Most disasters come from tunes, and valves dropping.

If a stock "block" ls7 is tuned right and has all the goodies then you should be fine for many many happy boosted miles...

Oh, HKE builds nice ls7 SBs!!!!!

To help a stock aluminum block live a main girdle from DM Performance or billet main caps that are pinned is a good idea. I used a DM girdle in my last motor. You have to have it installed and torqued, then line hone the mains.

each way i juggle the numbers it still works out cheaper n better to buy a crate texas speed built engine with prc heads n forged internals for 13k and sell my stock engine for 6k. 7k upgrade. most builders want more than 7k that just to redo my heads and add a set of pistons to an otherwise stock ls7. crate engine im getting better parts and build for less money. custom quote below

Base Price: $10,624.99
Customized Price: $13,208.98

I wouldn't trust Texas speed to build my lawn mower. Too many horror stories floating around the interwebz. Your engine is not somewhere to shop like you're the government going with the cheapest bid.
