ls main cap girdle
i just bought one of these for my current stroker ls3 project. have not seen mention of them here so i thought i would show you guys see what your thoughts are. seems to be a good idea. here is a pic
i just got mine. it a very nice piece. does require longer arp studs to make it work though. fits all ls motors. i guess i am the first putting one on a ls3 and i am glade to report fit fine. should fit with the stroker crank but it not here yet.
here is a link to full info:

Melting Slicks
I'm using; Diamond 11552 pistons with coated skirts -9:1, LS3 block, Callies Compstar forged 3.62 stroke crank, Eagle H-rods, ARP studs, polished LS3 heads, comp 921, stainless intake valves, L76 manifold.
I noticed the oil ring overlaps the pin area on a stroker piston.

Shane,
It's a great alternative to Billet main caps. Especially in High HP/Boost applications. I'm sure you will have that D1SC begging for mercy.
I picked up mine from D&M personally and we had a long talk about their effectiveness. GM had a similar design they were going to use on the LS engines to make them more rigid. After testing they did not need it for OE HP levels. That also saved lots of $$$. Now with us more than doubling the power of our LS motors, they are a good idea.
Just to give you a heads up, you will have to grind a little hole on the windage tray to clear one of the center main stud's nuts. No big deal..
It's the one that secures the oil pump pick up. That cavity is shaped differently to clear the pickup bracket.
Also, make sure you bend the bracket (towards the crank) a 1/4" to make up for the stud girdle's thickness. You don't want it sitting flat on the bottom of your oil pan. I put a piece of clay on the pickup and bolted the oil pan down to make sure it was off the bottom of the pan.
Once you have the windage tray bolted in, make sure your rods don't hit by turning the motor over a few times. I had to dimple a couple spots on the windage tray because of the rod bolts.

Drifting
I've used them and I can say that there is absolutly no savings over going with a set of BIllet main caps are the better I can't really say as even without them a lot of cars have lived without them??? If I have it to do again I'll probably just buy the billets and pin the main caps, but they do work I did have to modify the pickups. Have fun. I talked to Dimitery also, bought my first one in 02.
