Wheel spacers - Base C6
Not wanting to spend the money on new wheels / tires, thought about pushing the wheels out somwhat with wheel spacers. Anyone done this? Pictures? Have the '09 "gumbys" on the car and think with them pushed out somewhat would look a bit nicer than tucked back.
What size would I need to go with? I see Southern Car Parts have them. Any other thoughts / suggestions?
Thanks.......

I needed wheel spacers on my C6 for bigger brakes on custom rims but removed them cause with the wheels sticking out a bit the tires kicked up anything on the road on to the side body panels.

I have actually read a few threads where forum members have used small spacers to push the wheels out slightly. (maybe 1/4 to 3/8).
Some have done it to clear Z06 brakes (with the gumbys) on a narrow body.
You would have to go with longer studs to do that though.

Cool, I wish you had a pic. Are these adapters the type that have studs located between the 5 holes? If so do you know what thicknesses are available in this type of spacer? I had a set that were 11/16" thick that I used on a C4 but I don't know a source now. They were perfect for the 88-up C4. The downside is adding unsprung weight from the extra studs and nuts.

they are adapters not spacers, anything thinner than 1 inch isn't safe. Not much holding the bolts.

I'm running 8mm Spacers all around with ET lugs, no issues, and you can't even tell they are pushed out.
This was done so I can buy Z06 brakes. With 8 mm you will clear the caliper with Gumbys.

I'm running 1/4" spacers in front and 3/8" spacer in the rear. My C6 is lowered as well and the fit is perfect for me.
No rubbing or other issues.
I went ahead and installed the 1/2" ARP studs for peace of mind.

1/4" spacers all around here. On a 2 /2" drop. No rubbing even at 150mph plus. I used the E lugs. There extended to grab more threads. I get like 9 turns on my lug nuts. The first pic is after I installed 1/4" spacers, the last 2 were 1/8" spacers.
