Z06 Brake questions
Hey guy, I don't plan on replacing the brakes on my C6 coupe till they need to be done but need some info:
I want to do the Z06 brakes when the time comes, but do not know if they will fit? Can anyone who has done them on a coupe let me know what you need to do them? / spacers, ect.. Please post pics Thanks!

You can get a complete Z06 brake kit for around $2000. That includes everything needed including new rotors and lines.
As John stated, you will either need longer studs with spacers to get clearance or different wheels with an offset made to clear the Z06 brakes.

It's not offset you need to worry about, it's the clearance behind the spokes. Offset just dictates the lateral position of the rim centerline with respect to the mounting surface of the hub; it doesn't affect the position of the spokes with respect to the calipers at all.

Any particular reason you would want to put the Z06 calipers on? They are sort of a sub optimal solution if you are planning on using the brakes hard.

I am in the same boat, plan on putting a set on mine down the road as well.

If you get them hot enough, long enough, the stock aluminum caliper pistons transfer heat to the fluid. Then you need to upgrade the caliper or put in SS pistons, or just slow down.

This is the best place for spacers and they are forum sponsors. You want hub centric 8mm with gumby wheels. Lug nuts you want Cragar extend thread and you can get them at Summit racing.

The stock Z06 rotors will still rust like the other versions, unless you paint them or have them zinc plated.
Also IMHO the improvement is largely cosmetic. I used ceramic pads with my Z06 brakes and have much less dust to deal with. Or at least it isn't as noticeable.
The car may stop a little better, but the added un-sprung weight is quite noticeable.
If you're considering this mod for track use, go with something better.
Spacers are available from PFADT, Doug Rippie Motorsports, H&R, and Summit has a large selection of universal spacers.
ARP sells a variety of correct wheel studs for the C6, in various lengths.
If you install a spacer and reduce the number of exposed threads on the wheel stud, I don't understand how different lug nuts are going to help.
Here's a pic of the OEM wheel stud (note the lack of threads on the tip) and some other options. There is one inch of exposed thread with the Z06 brakes on my otherwise stock '06.

IMHO this combination of OEM caliper with an aftermarket rotor is better than going all OEM.

The lug nut fits into the wheel I get about 8 turns of the nut with 8mm spacers. I purchased new Studs but never bothered to put them on and I'm very confident in there strength.
Here is a link to lug nuts but these might not be the ones for c6 you can use the link to look
