Labor wanted to install a HUD in my non-HUD C5
Hey guys, been awhile but here goes.
I am looking for someone who I can bring my vette to have a HUD put in it.
Now I got the gauge, cluster and projector, all I need is someone to remove the dash, cut and place the bezel on the dash properly and get this thing done! Im sure some odd screws and stuff are needed but thats why Im posting here looking for some fellow corvette friends help
yes i will pay you for this, if you can match my mileage with the new cluster, thats a big plus
Ive had it sitting for idk.... 1 year now, so please let me know, I can drive anywhere 6 hours of orlando in either direction.
thanks folks

You also need the correct windshield for the HUD to project onto.

I have installed a Hud Unit in two a 1999 and was surprised to find cluster was HUD compatible already so didn't need a new cluster and a 2002 which was also Hud ready .I didn't change the windshield in either car and the projector wors very well even in bright sun light. , Image in sunlight with original Windshield . I Believe Steve Doten will install in Florida and Connecticut ,He is here on the forum

Bill thank you, Ive been away from the forums for some time, busy with life and projects, but its good to see the community is still strong, if anyone else can chime in... please do, I dont mind the windshield since I have full coverage and noticed a stone chip
I have had this stone chip since 2007, I bought it with a stone chip, so maybe after the install, Ill have my insurance replace it

The ZO6 windshield is a little bit thinner to save weight and ALL C5 HUD windshields have an anti-glare coating on/in them that lets the HUD reflection be seen better.
Numerous people have installed HUD units on regular windshields and have NOT had any issues.

got in touch with Steve, just waiting for when he comes back to orlando, anyone have tips on getting the mileage on the new cluster to match up with my miles?
the HUD odometer has like 30k-70k miles and my car has 117k
How can I keep the miles the same?
I am really hoping my current odometer can support the HUD ... but planning for worst case scenerio (sorry for being a perfectionist.. its my baby)
