To eliminate the possibility of dirty power like you said I ran a wire directly to the battery and the dam thing still won't start. Everything tests out so no clue now. I ohmed out the coil .4 ohms...

Getting fuel but no spark. Measure 12 volts to ignition module then on outlet side of module it measure 1.37 and .40 cranking. Have 12 volts to the coil but only getting 1.37 out of coil cranking....

I went out and started my 68 went to grab a drink and all of a sudden the engine just stopped. Hopped back in to start it and it turns over but won't start. Currently have HEI distributor installed...

None of the batteries have lead in them anymore...

None of the batteries have lead in them anymore so really they are all the same. Best price and warranty with no hassle is only two things to consider IMO.

Battery is brand new and tested at 13.5 volts. Cables are tight and clean. Buffed frame at ground location and sprayed with silicon a year ago. Will see if I can find the fusible link near starter...

The car idles better / smoother on ported vacuum but yes I have tried it both ways. The biggest problem is that I have not found anyone that tunes carburated set ups around me. They all only do FI.
