This is true. I will take the heat over the cold, just have to pace yourself and realize the work output is going to be lower.

I think I am officially ready to bond the front clip back on the car. I installed just about everything large I could find laying around the garage. The clip is aligned as good as I can get it, I am planning to drill some small locator holes for sheet metal screws now. I will need to pull off the clip one more time to rough up the bonding areas on the cowl and see what kind of mess I make after that....LOL. Hopefully the front will be permanently attached this week sometime.

Texas70,
If not too late, could you post direct side view (and maybe top view?) pics of the left and right sides of the cowl, behind where the eggcrate areas of the fender bond? My car had an 68-69 nose bonded onto it and liberties were taken in this area to get it fitted. So my cowl sides are a mass of fiberglass spacers and bonding cement, without the correct parts to fit a 70-72 nose.
Thank you in advance,
Tom

Right or Wrong, Good or Bad, the car is now a single piece again. The front is permanent (at least I hope it is), it is now bonded on.
The hood and doors line up as well as I could get them, I guess the real test will be when the wiper door and trim are installed. I should probable test fit all that stuff before I get too far along with the body work.

For those that are following along, I am still at it.
I have been working on running power 160 feet under ground to my official workshop I built 2 years ago. It is a 24' x 24' steel building that has been accumulating stuff since it was dried in. Since I am about to get serious on the body work, I want to move my project out of the garage connected to my house. My wife has not been too happy about me throwing her car out to make room for the vette project, plus I will not have to control the over spray as much if I move out back.
Working around that project, I have managed to get the wiring harnesses back in the car. The engine harness is all connected, front and rear light harnesses are in place (but not connected obviously), steering column (with new lower bearing) installed, interior wiring connected to column.
I also managed to get the brake system mostly functioning. Front brakes are good to go, but I broke off one of the bleed screws on the left rear. I guess when I dropped the caliper during the cleaning process it must have damaged the bleeder. Once I get that out, I will finish bleeding the rear and should have a working brake system.
It is taking a lot of will power not to install the battery and try cranking up the engine.
I would post some photos, but there really is not much to see. All under cover type work.

Dude, I dont know about you but the heat was brutal today. I got a touch of heatstroke on the big John Deere at the ranch today. Hope you get some AC soon. Nice progress so far.
