I pulled into a Chevy dealer in Dallas today and the light turned off once I got in the parking lot... it was almost as if the car knew.

The horizontal pumping fixed the shut off issue but the check engine light is still on. Owners manual says a "few" trips with the cap properly installed and the light should go off. We'll see how...

That was the first thing I checked, gas cap is on tight. I'm on a 1500 mile cross country trip... I hope this problem goes away. I don't want to have to find a Chevy dealer.

check engine light after pumping gas

I filled up at two separate stations and the pump would shut off after 3 seconds at each station. Now my check engine light is on... any idea what's going on? I'm still getting normal fuel mileage.
