I lapped the rough mating flanges on the caliper, and reassembled with new O rings... holds vacuum but pressure is a different...

It is the RF caliper, casting surface is too rough where teh O ring mates, and it leaked there,,, I lapped that half flat and smooth, got teh caliper cleaned, assembled and ready to try out...

Since it has DOT 5 fluid,,, I decided to just get replacement lip seals, as O rings seem to want DOT3,,,...

That was my experience .as I used DOT5 20 years ago, but teh O ring calipers weren't available then... Just want to have everything I need before I take it apart...

Changing the system back to Dot 3 may not be...

I agree,, that's why I'm asking,,, plus the bore diameter would have to match teh rest of the brake system MC etc, to work properly... Muskegon had the best prices on SS sleeved calipers when i got...

Replace lip seals with O ring kit...

I put SS calipers on my 68 about 20 years ago,,, got em from Muskegon brakes at a show IIRC... They are getting a little grabby, car pulls right with braking, but it sits more than gets driven...
