I installed a new gm gas cap but still have the odor. I did notice that the inside of the cap is moist and smells of fuel though.

I’m hoping you’re right! I plan on removing and checking the location of the holes and the studs.
It would be great if all that is required is drilling out the existing holes so it fits properly. 🤞

mine has the tabs but when I push them in, it just pops right out. Almost like it too big in that area. It does not seem that there is any tape; just the tabs as shown in ur photo.
