Unless you are after original status, why not go to the needle bearing pilot? The solid bronze bushing is $9 and the needle bearing is $14.

1. Agree with others, 1st gear ratio need to be in the 9.0 to 9.5 range (1st x rear end ratio) so a 3:55 or 3:70 would be great
2. Go with Comp Cams Nostalgia Plus cam...

Keep in mind that the spring ends have pockets to fit in the frame and lower a arm. When cutting 1/2 coil out of a spring they can sometimes be difficult to center and install. Just a FYI- Dave

Note that on a Holly, you need about 1/2" of clearance between the air tubes for the bowls and the inside of the air cleaner top. Not enough clearance and the tubes will siphon.
