found this rummaging in an old wrecking yard thought it was cool. can anyone identify what and when used? the wires coil inside as you turn the outer assembly. it has a green and red leader.

differential leak?

after recieving my new diff today i filled with fluid and lube before installing. while installing i noticed a drip coming from the bolt holes where the spreader bar bolts on bottom for the strut...
