No expert here, but I would try to close the throttle blades just a bit with the idle speed screw until it "leaking" stops. May need to reset idle speed on center carburetor.

I am trying to find out what drive gear was installed at the factory. Was it 6, 7, or 8 tooth?

I see that it is green but I don't know what that means as far as tooth count.

Installed my new clutch plate and adjusted per Tom's tune-up sheet. With .040 shims on either side I can spin the unit by hand. With .045 shims I cannot spin the unit by hand....
