I'm wondering if something is going on with the alternator.. just because it CAN put out 110 amps, doesn't mean it does it all the time. The demand for those amps needs to be present in the...

Firebird Belts

When I installed the rear firebird seatbelts in my '69, I ended up making a bracket that rotated the assembly 90 degrees so the locking mechanism would work properly. My original retracts mounted on...

No, the solenoid should be unaffected by the grounding. Carefully check the rest of the wires, and give it a try and see what you get.

Issue?

You might need a regulator, to get the pressure down to under say 10 psi. But are you having issues with how the car is running?

:iagree: Now that I re-read the OP, it says that the starter won't engage, meaning the solenoid is faulty. You can replace it with a stock one, and might have this issue again in a few years, or run...

What terminals are you jumpering to make it start right up while hot? Are you just jumping the battery terminal on the starter over to the solenoid?

My point is that if you're having high...

Fuel pressure

Agreed, 15psi might be blowing the needle out of the seat on the carb, but since the fuel pump is a 'surge' type lever pump, you will see pressure going from 0 to max on each cycle. Since the fuel...

Unless the 'drain' is at the battery post, it doesn't matter which side you disconnect, the path is broken.

However you can quickly test that in fact you do have a drain by disconnecting the...

Are you referring to removing just the front clip, meaning from the firewall forward? These cars aren't made that way. To remove the nose is a pretty major bit of work since it is bonded with...

Hey, and greetings from Kennesaw!

Do you have power to the wire with the car off? Does the wire from the alternator go straight to the horn relay? I'm kind of fuzzy on the wiring after '69.
