Not hard, but time consuming. Radiator out, belt off, all hoses off, 6 bolts. Clean the block surfaces completely before reassembly.

Since you'll have access to the opti, doing the cap and rotor...

They don't look horrible, and I'd check the transmission mount and torque arm mounts first.

If you go GM, get the 1LE bushings. If you go aftermarket, there's a ton of options available.

Correct - a LINEAR spring keeps it's rate throughout compression. A PROGRESSIVE rate spring does get firmer as it's compressed.

If all your coils are the same distance apart, it's linear - coils...
