How do you touch up small area with spray paint?

How do you touch up small area with spray paint?

I have a scratch that I need to touch up. I tried the tube paint and it is not good. I now have factory spray paint and clear coat. How do you go about this?

Do you mask off a large area … sand it …. paint it …. or??

Step by step procedure to follow is??

Thanks

There have been several threads on touching up scratches by masking them and filling them with brushed on paint. I be leery of spraying a scratch. Your best bet is to go to a shop that specializes in scratch repair. :seeya

yes.

there are "scratch repair" businesses that mainly do work for used car dealerships. These specialists can work miracles in little time, for little money. Plus, they'll come to wherever your car is.

Get a small bottle of touch up paint.

Get a book of matches. Pull out one match. Dip the torn end of the match in the paint to get a small amount of paint on the match.

Carefully (use two hands) use the match to place a small amount of paint in the scratch. Repeat if necessary.

This is not difficult and it works. I've fixed several scratches and chips on my 2000 Silver Corvette (and on previous Corvettes).
