I'm with you. Black wheels just look permanently dirty. They look like the owner doesn't care enough to wash them. Just big black holes where the wheels should be.

I know Im going to get torched for this but to me black wheels are the worst thing ever. You cant see the design very well unless your close, they do nothing to enhance the cars color and basically look like your driving on 4 spares. How can people like these wheels and pay for them? you couldn't give me a set. But what do I know? I'm the old "get off my lawn "guy. Ok let the destruction begin!

Different strokes for different folks

Wasn't there a quote from Henry Ford, "you can have any color you want, as long as its black" Sure glad we are all different with different likes and dislikes, or we would all be driving the same make, year and color of car.

I do like the black wheel look & even Cyber Gray look! In my opinion chrome wheels gives the impression "Old Dog" & we all know you can't teach an old dog new tricks ( with some exceptions )

Chrome is terrible.

Once in a while a see a well done C6 with black wheels but in general I do not like the look.

I think it depends on the vehicle. I also don't care for black wheels alone. Mine looked plain until I blacked out the tail lights, side markers and emblems. I considered doing the roof and halo but I think it would be too much. |
Old waxers arent going to understand black wheels any more than they understand matte finish paint jobs. Its an evolution of style and youre frozen in time. Chrome/polished wheels have their place, as do black/dark grey...even red or green wheels for that matter. Its styling, its fashion...old people arent generally fashion or trend savvy...surprise!

I like them all. As someone else said, it would be boring if all the vettes looked the same. I like that people customize their car, it gives us something to look and talk about, and isn't that part of the hobby.

These guys don't like black wheels either.

Well, I'm closing in on 61 years of age and my last C6 was a machine silver 2005 with polished OEM wheels. When I got my cyber-gray 2010 last summer, the first thing I did was put on black cup-style wheels with a red pinstripe, tinted the windows, and painted the calipers red. I like the look but I'll admit most the compliments I get are from younger guys.
