First Racing Stripe C7 model (Silver on Yellow) photos! Grand Sport model??
Just saw these in an email from Corvette7. They're saying that it might even be a Grand Sport model.
Didn't embed many as spy photographers go after posters sometimes. :leaving: Full pics set at Corvette7. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...4&d=1361473307 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...d=136141173307 |

Would look better in a widy body (imo)
|
In the second pic it appears as though the rear fascia is just stuck on and not a part of the real car.

I was told the GS will have fogs.
|
Those stripes are right off the 60th anniversary Vettes.
|
Hood fits well!
Dont see all the creases/lines in the hood? |

If true, that would be good sign whether this may be or isn't gran sport. |

Well we know what the turn signals look like in back and just how much and where all the dirt is going to be on that back end.

Still dont care for the chrome strip in the grill.
|
using tape instead of fasteners and sealant cuts down on weight....
|
I'm getting really tired of the Disney Cars look, making the head lights look like eyes and that dental retainer up front is strange.
BUT i do like the stripes. [QUOTE=terps;1583182509] http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...4&d=1361473307 |

This doesn't look like a performance model IMHO. The calipers, rotors, and tires appear no different than those on the Z51 model. Even the C6 Grand Sport had a big brake package...

These strips really make me :U
To many colors going on - with lines that don't match - looks very ugly - the dirt makes it look better  |

I love it, the only thing id change and it would be changed as soon as i got it home, the chrome emblems HAVE TO GO. They seriously look like crap.

I think the design team needs to rethink those stripes.
Yes, double skunk stripes are a Vette trademark that goes back to Cunningham at LeMans, but isn't that the reason to change them? Let's see something different or unique for the C7. How about a single stripe offset to the driver's side? Or a stripe on the side that runs parallel to the side extractor? Do something dramatic and cool. These are pretty average. IMHO. |

I like it. Makes it just "pop" more than plain yellow. Don't mind the black/carbon spoiler either.
Combo works for other cars too. http://www.germanexotics.com/wp-cont...ria-yellow.jpg http://carad.ebayimg.com/i16/05/a/000/77/e5/ada8_4.JPG |
Could it be that there is another rear end that will be introduced with the GS model? They just attached the non GS stingray rear facia to camo the rear that maybe forthcoming?
Speculative at best .... But I'm hoping for a different rear end treatment.

I noticed that as well. The only thing I could come up with is that these cars are pre-production and this one in particular may be missing some fasteners. As such, they may have used some color tape to help hold the rear fascia on in that area or to hide an unsightly gap. Another possibility is that there maybe some inner liner pieces missing on these prototypes so they may have used to tape to cover areas that water or ice could have intruded into which would make some sense given they are testing in the snow. .

Base rotors have C-shaped slots. Z51 rotors have straight slots. Refer to my previous thread to see close up pictures for both. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...nd-rotors.html |

think the mirrors and spoiler are the carbon flash option on the Z51 package, does look rather Hot Wheels though. I like the duct tape, used the same to fix my grandson's wagon, with about the same effect.

I think this is hands down the best c7 of all the mules so far! I am thinking I should get yellow with a stripe now. But silver stripe with silver wheels or black stripe with black wheels.
|
I still can't get over the rear of the car.

Showing red instead of yellow could be a contributing factor However, IMO if you're going to have stripes going over the spoiler, the spoiler needs to be the same color as the body as it is done with the red one. Not sure on the front stripes....... I kinda like the factory ones on the front of the yellow car better than front stripes on the red car, but the jury is still out on whether they should go all the way down to the splitter. |
Maybe it's the new clamshell hood to allow easier access to the front end! :D

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/memb...kgp-135612.jpg Two things: 1. if they painted the spoiler and lower "facia" as the body color, people would complain. "Why didn't they try to make it disappear--the rear end is so HUGE? I wanted black, or pebble grain, or carbon fiber." 2. at least for those who don't like the large-winged "badge," on the back end, it surely won't show much (except dirt, that is). Of course, cleaning the outside of those tail pipes is going to require a few Q-tips or very skinny fingers.....:D ZAINO/REJEX!!!!

BUT i do like the stripes. Also, the grille would, IMO, look better if it was recessed deeper into the bumper like the C6 Z cars. I think it looks wierd right up against the bodywork with zero recession. Then again, I have not been a fan of a base vette for some time now, I am positive we will get a much differnt front (and rear) bumper on the C7Z. |
So what is with the black notch in the green square?

I didn't mean that was MY car but it is the first pic I found of the same basic car/color I had. It was like a '73 Saab 99. IDK, I don't remember much from my college days. The yellow in this shot looks a bit more accurate. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...73-SAAB99L.jpg |

I'll bet 10-1 the Z version of. This car loses the chrome strip in the grille. And I agree with a lot here that the rear needs to be body color. If they don't, a lot of people will.

I don't like stripes on Corvettes or any car unless it's a Hot Wheels toy.

My opinions
Yellow, no thanks, make mine black Stripes, maybe if they were free and would have to be subtle like the GM 100th anniv edition stripes Rear end, looks perfect to me, and will look better in all black with a blacked out badge, chrome=:ack: The one lit up light is obviously a turn signal if you've seen some of the other videos of C7 Front chrome strip, make mine black or i will just cover it with Plastidip Panel fit and duct tape, i don't care, as long as it's just a test mule problem:hide: Black wheels, perfect for my black car, maybe with a redline lip on wheels to go with my red interior:thumbs: I am IN LOVE WITH THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo::eek::yesnod: :flag: |

I know this is a test vehicle but the spoiler fitment at the ends of the rear spoiler (facing the hatch glass) seems 'off'?
|
Racing stripes are for AC's and GT's.

I cannot believe the complaints coming from the haters. Picking out ill fitting trim pieces on a preproduction model... cmon now.

IMO stipes belong on AC Cobra's and Mustangs...NOT on Vette's

I would try a broader stripe, maybe to the second crease/bend off center (in the hood valley). Also matte or satin finish stripes sometimes look great, especially black on black.
