I believe England is exclusive in requiring rear fog lights and side repeater turn signals.
The T-84 is the generic E-code headlight for export vehicles. IIRC all export cars (euro or not) got the E-code headlights. . I'll try to dig out the reference. |

Do you think I had to convert a C5 to comply with EU regulations
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: |
Germany has something called the TUV-their version of DOT/NHTSA. Germans are so demanding in this regard, that any aftermarket accessory that could effect safety-wheels for example-must have a TUV approval number (meaning it's been tested). Try Googling them-maybe they have guidelines for importation and conversion. Regarding headlight washers, don't have an answer on requirements. I do know my '85 M635CSi (grey market) have washers AND little wiper blades to clean the surfaces of the lights-so that concept has been around before HID.
|
Australia also require side turn signals placed no further back than 1500mm front the front, so here you see them near the fender cove.
Must also be (E) marked Amber indicators Headlights must dip to the left (E) marked |

Some feedback would be good FastlaneMech

Just curious where Italy falls in the all these regulations? I plan on getting a home there end of this decade, spending half the year exploring Europe with that as our base (Northern Italy) and hope to take a ZR1 or something over there.

You might try to get hold of the Velumen company in Germany. They made these lower opening projector headlights for the German Corvette market and now you can get them in the U.S. I think they must have been certified for sale in Germany. I don;'t have a German contact or address, but with some sleuthing you might find them. Similar to the Sun Guns sold on this site, but unlike the Sun guns, the Velumens actually have headlight shrouds.

I found some cool lights when I was modifying my car but played safe and bought the GM kit that I knew would pass the inspection. |

Over here, we're all part of the EU. EU regulations apply to the whole of Europe. Some countries are strict; others lenient. I'll let you guess where Italy sits.
Of course, the ways things are who knows if Spain, Greece and Italy will still be a part of the EU 7 years from now! |

They might work but imagine getting to the safety inspection and the inspectors says "Nein". At least T84s are E marked.

|
No the T84/T85 uses a standard H4 dual filament bulb.

If your car is through SVA/IVA its down to your MOT inspector. Officially everything has to be E Marked. Most MOT guys don't mind if it passes the MOT test regime.
only been out at night a couple of times, but the lights aren't the brightest!!!:eek: really fancied some of the deals on the updates for projectors and halos... done LED's on the rears and indicators and they are great.. |
