It's not cheap to do it right

This build includes

Torque plate honing of the cylinders
Line hone mains after doweling and pinning main caps
Square deck block surfaces 90* from main tunnel
Dowel pin main caps
Balancing
Hellfire rings
Speed Pro main
Speed Pro rod
Speed Pro HD babbit cam bearings
Wash, file fit rings, set all oil clearances, final assembly

With all the parts, new LS2 block, K1 billet rods, K1 4340 crank, Wiseco pistons, ARP main and head studs.

Total ends up an easy $5500.

There are alot cheaper alternatives out there but the fellow I deal with builds one engine at a time in a state of the art facility.

I only give out his name to a close friends-so he has time for my builds.

Don't forget-to add to this we still need a new LS2 front cover, valley cover, the kock sensor and cam harness, oil pump, timing chain, camshaft and lifters.

That's why when I sold my last engine combo from top to bottom for 10k-it was a STEAL!!!!!! That's why it sold so quick-there's gonna be one fast, fast car in Finland!

One nice build buddy going to be one little fast CI motor for sure here. Doing it right the first time is never cheap on stuff like this.:ack:Robert

I look forward to seeing his build and how it performs at the 1/2 mile event.

If Arun beats me I will be more than ok with that, he has gone 8.8 and 160mph. His car should be Benchmark, thats his business and he is very good at it!

I just can't compete at his level, but a close 2nd would be cool!

Oh it's me Poppa Bear, I just want to see this thread do well as Arun has put a lot of time and effort into this combo and even though I'm an instigator, I want to see some awesome results and want to see this thread be very informative for those looking for a great FI motor!

I know from my logs with low boost on the street 30 to 135 in 7 sec. while tuning.I believe I can run with the big rwd cars but we will see...

Glad to see you have stepped up the safety gear Arun.

SteveDoten 12-27-2012 07:22 PM

sounds like a snotty lil combo, I wonder if the LSA heads are going to takeover the FI market on the larger bore motors?

7500rpm shifts are gonna sound wicked.

MVP'S ZO6 12-27-2012 11:24 PM

Arun, is Charlie running his CNC program on your heads?

I read in the other post that you were going with a 230/238 cam, why not your stg 3 cam?

The 3 is a 230/242-and designed with a cathedral port head in mind. From what I have seen tuning LS3 C6's and Camaro's they don't need as big of a split or the overlap to get the job done.

Those LSA heads should have a runner volume of almost 275cc when there done.

Around 9.40-to 9.5 but it's going to get a healthy dose of around 26-28lbs of boost.

LS2 block will get the mains pinned and we'll upgrading the piston pins to heavy wall tool steel.

Not messing around with a stock crank/relucter so this is getting a double key-wayed K1, so it should be fine for 7500 rpm shifts.

Cam is going to be something mild to take advantage of the big port LSA head.

28 psi and 7500 rpms, any concerns with belt slip? Sticking with a serpentine belt or going cog?

It will be the same 10 rib setup that I've been using over the last few years.

I don't see any issues with belt slip-my car typically goes through the traps around 7300 so 200 or so rpm won't hurt much.

On all my logs the boost was always climbing.

Well have to see where these square port heads keep making power too.

I'm actually surprised of the low static compression. Figured you'd push 11-1 static by now.:leaving:

best of luck with the new set up!!!
