Going to do a new build for 2013 at DasilvaMotorsports. Basically to get the most out of the least-but by no means are we cheaping out-but were going to put the money where we feel is going to give the best return.
And with all that we have learned over the years-we have a pretty good understanding what we need and what we don't need.
Here's what we have collected:
A brand new LS2 aluminum block, some Wiseco pistons with the older 1.5/1.5/3mm ring pack ( thanks to Rob@Champion for a killer deal on these parts!), a set a LSA heads which will get sent out for some CNC porting.
Were just waiting on a set of K1 billet H-beams and a 4340 stock stroke crank.
This is going to be a 365 cube motor topped with a YSi-goal is too make 1000 rwhp plus and run 8.6-8.8's at 160+mph. We also have plans to run this combo at a 1/2 mile event in Chicago this June, our goal is to run 185-190 mph in the half mile.
After this combo is thoroughly tested and put through it's paces-it will get yanked, refreshed and sold to a lucky customer-a tried/tested and proven combo!

Well i know the combo will make the power... Thats not even a question.. The last 364/YSI I built did 915whp@19lbs with Bret's tuning. Turn up that blower and there you have it.
And as I mentioned, I have a 4340 Forged Stock stroke crank for sale...
Nice package, are you using your new cam in this package? What CR are you going with on this motor?
Looking forward to seeing it run the 1/2 mile in June!
Clown, Arun, told me was going to keep it under 200 mph, so you wouldn"t get lost on the field and you could follow his tail lights back to the starting line again. Robert

I spent the whole weekend looking at some of the fastest blower cars-with the smaller blowers.
What I found commom was the short stroke, 3" to 3.4". There is something to be said about that.
Yup, I cant say we "knew" what we were doing when that was assembled, it just happened, but I rarely see a bigger cube or a bigger $$ build compete with it. (at our level) I think that car has 8.0's in it, we'll see once it all comes together next season.
Stroker motors dont seem to make any difference really either from my experience on track, street ok, but not on track. I also haven't seen the difference with huge cams either, but I'm putting a monster cam in my build this year so I'll see how that works out.
That is a good lookin build, 185 - 190 in the 1/2 mile is very fast, how long is the brake zone in chicago ? Maybe it`s time for a brake upgrade also, eh buddy ?

Don't forget, I run 155-158 on a easy pass in the quarter and my car typically picks up 32-35 mph from 660 to 1320. So once I hit the 1/4 I still have another 1320ft to pick up at least another 20-30 mph.
Stopping won't be a problem-like the Canadian event-that's why Frank and I are passing on that event.
Plus my new setup includes a Parachute out back.

what would that motor cost to build minus the blower? I mean ready to be installed I would use my blower.
It's not cheap to do it right
This build includes
Torque plate honing of the cylinders
Line hone mains after doweling and pinning main caps
Square deck block surfaces 90* from main tunnel
Dowel pin main caps
Balancing
Hellfire rings
Speed Pro main
Speed Pro rod
Speed Pro HD babbit cam bearings
Wash, file fit rings, set all oil clearances, final assembly
With all the parts, new LS2 block, K1 billet rods, K1 4340 crank, Wiseco pistons, ARP main and head studs.
Total ends up an easy $5500.
There are alot cheaper alternatives out there but the fellow I deal with builds one engine at a time in a state of the art facility.
I only give out his name to a close friends-so he has time for my builds.
Don't forget-to add to this we still need a new LS2 front cover, valley cover, the kock sensor and cam harness, oil pump, timing chain, camshaft and lifters.
That's why when I sold my last engine combo from top to bottom for 10k-it was a STEAL!!!!!! That's why it sold so quick-there's gonna be one fast, fast car in Finland!
Shoot , he`s got a chute
Glad you and Frank are not going to the Ottawa event, the runoff is short, and now Ian and I don`t have to worry about you clowns
