This is a nice post to read, thanks to the OP!
I'm in the market for a C6 for the wife, and was fearing the auto trans as a liability with more than 90k. We found a "perfect" Corvette with 92k on it, but I was concerned about the mileage and the A6. My wifes LS1 powered 1999 Camaro SS has 225,000 on it with one trans rebuild. We drive 110 miles a day & don't have to put them away for the winter months. We also have a 1995 Impala SS clone with 230k, and had a 1993 Z28 with 265k and her mint '95 Z28 that was forced into a center divider at 192k (the '99 was the replacement that never filled the space). EDIT ... oh yah and the 2004 GTO with 135k ... Tom |
05 Z51 w\ 98k+ daily driver. Bought one year old with 1500 miles on it. Ive put 97K on it and loved it.
To me, the more mileage the better. Drive the car and enjoy |
:lurk:

LOL at the guys posting up with 50-80k miles. I don't consider it high mileage till you hit 180k. Until then, it's still young.

159,450 + miles on my 05 C6 Auto F55
As long as weather's good will drive but it will need major maintenance. Orginal WP Rotors etc. :):) |

56k on our '07 Z06 isn't that remarkable...but we still still see similar cars with <10,000 miles, "gently driven", of course. |
My VR '07 just turned 26,000 miles. Not a garage queen by any means but it's nice sometimes to have another car to drive when the weather sucks.
I'm very pleased to learn what others have put on their C6's. Sounds like I may have made a wise choice after 25 years of Porsches. |
'07 Coupe w/ 77k miles.
Looks & drives just like new! |
You folk are making me feel great. My 06 vert only has 23xxx miles, so I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment!

Mine is only 3 weeks old and already has 2600 miles on it and will roll over 3k before Thursday.
So give me some time and I will be there with you guys. |
What Next?
What do you do with the high mileage Corvette that you love and don't want to get rid of? How high do you take it before you worry about the block wearing out?
|
65K and still going

I have an '05 Precision Red C6 with MN6, NAV, F55, fully loaded (equiv. to 3LT). It is my only car and driven year round (put on winter tires for the snowy season). It has about 225,000 km's (139,800+ miles).
It has had lots and lots of repairs over that time too (steering rack, water pump, rear bearings, heater core, driveshaft, clutch, two transmissions, and some smaller stuff), but hopefully that is behind me and It will jhave lots more trouble-free miles and grins. |
