modify the STEALTH RAM INTAKE to fit the c-4 vettes

As you may or may not know the TPI intakes don,t flow much air above 4500rpm so HOLLEY just came out with the STEALTH RAM INTAKE that flows WAY MORE AIR AND MAKES WAY MORE HP but its too tall to fit the L98 engine c-4 vettes by about 1" and most of the camaros, well I found a place with the knowledge and skill to modify the plenum on
the STEALTH RAM INTAKE to fit the c-4 vettes and do other custom EFI intake mods http://fuelinjectorclinic.com/
this company does quite simular work to other brand intakes all the time! they can also make EFI intakes from the HOLLEY BBC intakes, or make EFI INTAKEs from the EDELBROCK SUPER VICTOR intakes http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLi.../AMSM/5955.html http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLi.../AMSM/5951.html
send one of the HOLLEY EFI TUNNEL RAM BASES to these people and they can adapt the parts necessary to make what you want.

Wonder how much it will cost to have it done?
Grumyvette are you having them do your intake or are you doing it your self or are you going with a different hood.

Grumpy, did you test-fit the stealth ram without the throttle body? I recall that a guy on thirdgen.org with a custom setup built a wedge-type spacer to go between his throttle body and plenum, and it gave him the necessary clearance by tilting the throttle body down. Other than bolt issues, it seems like a good solution without making major modifications to the plenum.

I know I am dredging up the dead but just as an FYI, I talked to Frank and it is about $400 and he supplies you with a sheet metal plenum that will work. I don't understand how but he will send me pics. His # is 561- 427- 0082. Will post more results when they are advailable.

the miniram has a 3" runner, the stealth ram has a 6" runner. with the 6 inch 6" runner compared to the 3, you will make peak hp and tq about 500-700 rpm's less then the miniram. you will sacrifice some peak hp with the steath but you will make torque much lower in you rmp range. i think the stealth ram would be best suited for a stock lower end that will not hold up to the high revs the miniram likes or someone who like a lower torque curve. but for a solid forged lower end (even a 350ci) that can turn 6500- 7000 rpm's, the miniram will outperform.

i think the minram peak hp #'s are made at 6500 rpms, and the stealth is 5600 rpms

personally i really dont feel the need for a lot of low end torque. i like mine for mid to high for hook up purposes. but thats my preference and maybe not someone elses.

Wow this is an old thread. First grumpy says the guy will modify the base and now another person who talke to the same guy said he'll send you a sheet metal intake? Ummmmm did I read that right?

I'm pretty sure this guy is the guy that Grumpy originally got together with to do the new plenums. He ended up shutting Grumpy out and then Grumpy doing his own ones. I believe this is the folded sheetmetal one. I don't think either one is a real good idea. Hopefully in the next 6 weeks I'll have my 398 with a full SteathRam together.

What are you using for a hood?

AFAIK, Grumpy and Frank said they both use different plenums. The base remains the same while the plenum changes. Grumpy is trying to get someone to cast it and Frank said he has some sheetmetal ones made up. I don't have pics of either yet.

Is it possible that modding the Stealth Ram will affect its original performance? I mean I cant belive that Holley wont just make one for us C4 guys.Who buys more aftermarket performance parts than us?

Stock hood with a Harwood cowl induction scoop bonded on. I'll snap pictures as I go.

Prove to me that the modifications that you make to the stealthram do not affect its driveabilty/power range/flow from that of the original and I will be interested

Blown Vette 08-05-2004 06:53 PM

Are you offering a money back guarantee? I would suggest a written one for anyone considering this.

A few people I have spoken to have major problems during your last go around. Do all cylinders burn evenly? Does the throttle body still hit the hood?

vetster86 08-05-2004 06:56 PM

Holley just came out with the stealth ram intake? Gee I think its been around a few years now.
