CCW Classic custom powder coat inside
I just bought a set of CCW classics from the board here for drag use. I just got them powder-coated anthracite with clear added. Here are some pictures incase you ever want to change things up!

Did you disassemble the wheels first? Or did you have it all done as single pieces?

Wheels won't fall apart - they are bolted together. I would just worry about air leaks.
:iagree::iagree: Not to screw up your day even more, but when you mount/dismount the tires, you have to be VERY careful not to disturb the seal between wheel center/halves. If this bond is damaged, the wheels might have to come apart for a "re-seal". Not a big deal, but if they were coated as a single unit,.......... |

You don't want to get too crazy with the silicone, because one of the tire's beads has to be able to slide over this part of the wheel, during the mounting process. If the bead is too thick, and the tire hangs up on it, and tears at it, this is how the leaks occur.

I just had the rears mounted and there were no leaks that we could find nor see 4hrs later. I couldn't mount the fronts becuase the shop lost my valve stems for all 4 wheels and the place I went to didn't have a stem skinny enough to fit into the front (see my other thread).
I'll give these wheels a week to see how the air-pressure holds, being sure to test the pressure every day...probably every 15 minutes lol. |
