Hello guys,

I don't want to start another thread on this issue so I dig it up.

I have this "rocks in a can" sound in my C4 ZF 6 1993 at idle as it is shown in my video (attached, sorry for poor visual quality, I had to convert it into avi.file in order to upload it here).

I belive that this is the issue described in http://www.zfdoc.com/index.htm (in the attached picture).
I'm not fully sure if in the car is original dual mass flywheel or a signle mass type (the previous owner seems to replace the clutch over 3000 miles ago, he said that the returned to dual mass because of noise making by single mass, but the mechanic who did it can only confirm that the clutch was replaced, but there is nothing in his notes whether he put a brand new dual mass (very unlikely, five years ago) or the an used one, a single mass.

I bought this AMS "replacement kit" with a single mass flywheel but not sure what level of noise it will cause during driving (I have not found any video about it)

So my questions are:

1) Can I drive it with this rock in the can sound (I can get used to it), yearly mileage about 2000 miles, mainly cruising, I don't exploit the car (I avoid quick start from traffic lights and etc.) Or it maybe be harmful to the ZF gearbox?
2) In your opinion the original dual mass flywheel can not be renewed / refurbished), or at least refurbished dual mass flywheel will not make the rocks in a can sound disappear?

Cheers
