Default Help with choosing converter?

As of right now i have a stock '00 conv A4 w/ 3.15's

Sitting in my living room are:
Z06 catback
3.42 rear diff
underdrive pulleys
predator tuner

On the way... Supermaxx longtube system

My question is which is the best stall speed and company for my application? I was looking for a lower stall because i'm usually putting around town and a pretty good bit of highway use (not a racer but i do play on occasion)

Looking for a one time lift fee. I'm just not sure if I should keep the stock converter because of my usage.

You might be happy with the stock converter. But if you were to change it, you'd be happy with a 2800-3200 stall.

I'll cast my vote for the Pro Torque 2400 stall

It is a great converter if you are looking for stock drivability, but if you occasionally go to the track, it hits hard off the line. I have been very satisfied with it.

I had the same questions before hand too.

there are optimal converters for your combination, if you only are after performance, probably 3200 to 3600 (?) but if drive-ability is an issue then probably 2800 to 3200, there is a give and take ... also should consider if planning on adding more mods such as H/C or just C .... don't want to have buy several converters and instal, $ add up quickly.

My tranny is being rebuilt as I type this and i opted for a 3200 Stall to go with my new 3:42 Z06 Rear, this combo was recommended to me by a number of tuners, and tranny shops in my area.

Yank SS3600 or PI Vig 3200. Don't be afraid of stall. If it's a properly built converter it won't be too loose, and either one of those converters will work well with a 3.42. Precision Industries seems to have a better rep, but the Yank SS series looks good, and with the lower prices it's a more competitve product now. You might even be able to get by with a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500, though I think a 3.73 is more suited for it. It's also pretty cheap, and the F-Body crowd seems to like it because it's a quality product.
