Driving your vette in November Part VIII!
Well this is the time of year where you stereotypical vette owner pulls off the insurance (excpet comprehensive) and stores his/her baby for the winter. But with the INCREDIBLE weather we had in October (best i ever remember) and now NOVEMBER starting off GREAT in the Midwest and Chicago area, I am enjoying my vette to its fullest, as the fall makes for the best pure driving weather of the season (not too hot, not too cold, great horsepower and fantasitic fall colors).
ENJOY your vettes guys/gals while the going is still good and DON"T STORE em until you ABSOULTEY have to b/c life is just too darn short and these vettes will still be around when we are long gone!!!

I'm with Paul. I don't stop until I see the salt trucks. Drove the 75 to Al Capone's tonight, couldn't get a table. Ended up at another local haunt. The Anny is laid up in prep for Vettefest. I've been waxing and detailing underneath.

Perfect weather today for this time of year November 4th (Sunday). Drove 160 miles in the vette with 4 close friends in a vette caravan then we shot a couple hundred rounds of ammo at this awesome outdoor gun range in Ottawa, IL!
The pics at the end of this link really captured the moment of a perfect wild and crazy day in the vettes with great friends!

A little cool this morning but had the vette out and went out for breakfast with my wife. Got a new message on the computer read out today, "Active handling warming up" and then "Warm up completed" .
Never had these messages before and I've driven it in cooler temps, not even sure if the cooler temps had anything to do with it.
Anyhow, then spent 2 hours blasting around on a '07 Yamaha R1, great day.
Looks like a high of upper 40's for this coming week. This may have been the last nicer weekend for a looooooooooooooong time

PETE,
Sounds like fun and next time we have to get you shooting with us. I bet you were going very, very slow when the active handling sign came on the DIC?
The 2 C5 Zs I have owned both did/do this when the car is not fully warmed up yet and is driving/coasting at very slow speeds, and if you pick up the speed the dic message goes away.

Yvonne took me to dinner today in her new(er) 2003 50th vert
Ya know, for as long as we've owned Corvettes, I don't think we've ever pulled the insurance due to winter. If the streets are dry and salt free; we'll be tooling along in them on weeknights and weekends

I put mine away on October 25th. I don't keep it at home and like to get it put away before the other cars start arriving where I store it. I'm usually one of the first in and last out, but I don't have to worry about it being moved several times to get other cars out in the spring. Actually, it's kind of nice having it out of the garage for a few months. I'm sure I'll be biting at the bit to get it out around the middle of January.

Yup, thats exactly what happened. When I pulled out unto the street from the lot is when it said "warm up competed" and all was well.
Good to know its normal.

It must be a sickness because if I don't go for a ride for like 10 days, I have withdrawals and start to shake.
I would never consider dropping insurance or putting her to sleep.
