Swapping an LS7 into an LS1 f-body would be quite simple. You could use the stock wiring harness, trans, mounts, etc, etc. Swapping into an LT1 car would be a lot harder, since the mounts, wiring, trans, etc, are not the same.
For the cost of an LS7, you could build a hell of an LSx motor. LS7's were 14K last I checked, and that will buy a lot of motor.

The Katech LS7 and the GM LS7 are two different engines. I know the thread I posted was a GM LS7. Im pretty sure the Katech engine can be bolted up to the LT1 F-body fairly easy also. This is quoted off of their website and it doesnt specify the LT1 or LS1 F-body.

The LS1 and LT1 T-56 trans are not interchangeable. While the trans internals are the same (well, almost, 93 was different), the bell housing (specifically the clutch setup) are not the same at all. LT1 uses a pull style pressure plate, where as the LS1 uses a more traditional push style pressure plate. Using an LT1 trans on ANY LSx motor will require changing a lot of parts on the trans, including the input shaft IIRC.
If you are dead set on putting an LSx motor into a LT1 f-body, it is much, much easier to just sell the LT1 trans and get an LS1 trans.
I'm not dead set on it. I was just curious about it. I think I'll just keep saving my money up for the C6 Z06. The cost of the Katech install is more than my car is worth anyway. Plus I'm not even sure if it would pass smog here in California.

No it can't. As mentioned the trans is different. Motor mounts are different. You would have hood clearance issues. and a host of other issues.

That is incorrect. We simply enhance GM's LS7 engine. The LS7 can be "bolted up" to the LT1 F-body fairly easily, you are correct. However the integration and the things you need to change to get it to work in a LT1 F-body would not make it worthwhile. You are better off starting with an LS1 F0body.

For less than cost of an LS7: I got an 402, LS2 block, 4" crank, forged pistons, AFR 255cc heads, Fast 90, NW 90 TB, 42lb injectors. But down 478rwhp through an built auto trans.
