Coupe or Vert?

From the "What would you build" threads, there are only a few convertibles chosen.
I am one of them. Not sure why, cost? Most coupes probably will not see a track either.

The Boss (wife + CFO) likes the drop top. I like the drop top. My '13, 427 and my 96 collector edition are verts. To me there is nothing like the open air top when cruising.

IMO verts look ugly with the top up. The fact that the coupe has a targa is a better compromise to me being that you can still get that open air feel.

Would there be more road noise with the soft top convertible Z06? I like the styling of the top compared to the hatch look...biased as I had a C5 hard top.

A 650HP and 650 ft-lbs of torque super-car available as a convertible. No brainer, vert all the way. I figured there would be pent up demand from 'vertiholics with a penchant for HP but maybe there aren't that many out there. When I read how stiff the C7 Z06 was I knew a Z06 convertible was coming. I thought to keep the buzz and C7 press releases flowing it they would wait unit 2016. I was very surprised when they announced it would be available as a 2015 model. Yahoo!!!! A 650HP supercharged convertible, you gotta love it!!!

I would be thrilled with either one. If I had the means to do so, I would have one of each, but I'm going with the coupe.

I am getting the coupe for several reasons (even though I am typically a convertible Guy) and here's why:
1) I like the new roofline of the coupe
2) I equate it to a street legal race car...and I think race cars look better as coupes
3) I think the rear of the car looks odd as a convertible...the coupe roofline ties the rear with the rest of the car.
I think C1-C5 Look better as convertibles while C6-C7 look better as coupes (Although I really like the C6 427 Convertible).

I've had 2 hard tops and a coupe in my C5's.
This time I'm leaning towards vert. Of course I'm probably going to want to hpde or make a few passes with it.
I'd pay for a factory fit/finish rollbar....and I imagine I'm not alone.
Being that all of my C5's have had 5 points I don't mind them. And honestly a drop top with a rollbar/cage inside looks friggin badass.
I remember following a Vert with a bar around watkins in the middle of july saying well, I'm sweating to death with the windows open in my Z anyway......might as well have the top down.
I'd run my coupe track car with a rollbar topless most of the time as well.
