Default To Vert, or not to Vert. That is the question.

Vote what you are getting/wanting!

I guess I could have had another spot for undecided.

If you are a baller and are getting both, you can vote for both

Poll is public.

I've owned 5 Corvette convertibles.... still have 2.
The ONLY way to go.
I ordered my C7 convertible a month ago.....
now with this information, I just might change my order to a Z06 CONVERTIBLE.

I have a question. If I occasionally want to track my car, the Vert will not be allowed on the track- correct? As it does not have a built-in roll bar like an s2000, Boxster, Ferrari....So all the Aero benefits would not be all that useful on back roads and freeways? That may weigh heavily on my decision.

I would consider a vert z06 if didn't already have a vert in my stable. Also I prefer retractable hardtop over ragtops. I am considering a Viper vert at some point in the future but don't like the looks of the viper coupes near as much as the vert. I don't mind the look of the z06 coupe and it still gets a removable hardtop which also is nice.

I am glad to see GM finally listening to the customer. I am a buyer in Z06 Vert form. Gonna go with a '16 or '17 MY Vert and let the first year work the bugs out. Thank you GM.

That's right - no roll bar=no track time. I can't believe the engineers missed this design consideration. All the work into "track focused" performance will have to be enjoyed on public roads with the Z06 'vert. Maybe they will put one in on the 2016's. Hey, the base 'vert with the Z51 option is in the same boat - lots of good track equipment on board and no where to go.

It's simple buy the coupe for the track and the convertible for the beach. / thread

Since I can remove the roof on my 2015 ZO6 coupe, I will not need the convert.

That's how I feel. Best of both worlds. On my C6Z I missed taking the top off. Well other than the time I ripped it off. I'm so glad I'll be able to take this top off a lot easier.

Best,
Gene

I must have been asleep as I thought that the coming Z06 was coupe only.

Well you weren't asleep that long. It's being unveiled at the NY Auto show in a few days. The pictures and details leaked just a few days ago.

Removing the roof looks exhausting. Put the car in park, shut it off, lift these latches, lift here, Best with 2 people? Once you put the roof in the back any storage is completely lost. I think I will just stick with pushing the button. Now you can do it from the key fob and up to 30 mph. That removable roof seems just plain ridiculous hassle to go through for a half assed open air feeling. I'll stick with the real thing.

From the poll, it appears the vert may prove to be quite popular, which wouldn't surprise me a bit. I bet it sells well.
