Default Cracked Windshield....Help Chevy Cust Service

I realize that it's a new model and that the focus is on building new vehicles, but mine's cracked and needs replacement. The word from my dealer is that "no windshields are available and all orders will be cancelled".

Can you help to expedite the process? I appreciate any help you can provide.

Bowling Green can send a new windshield to the dealer. Good Luck. Let us know how long it takes the dealer to start the ball rolling for you.

There was another thread where someone said it would be months to get a new windshield (I think)

EDIT Link added: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...2870903-a.html
He said 6-8 weeks eta

You got a flat too? Streak of bad luck?

Good luck and keep us posted.

Forget about "plugged". Can be done, but some states (New York) have sent letters to all tire dealers and repair shops telling them not to plug tires anymore. The dealers have been told to do only inside (patch)repair to tire if damage to tire is repairable. Inside patch is the way to go, other than just repalcing tire. But as you know these tires for Corvettes are very expensive.

I know the situation with parts availability may be different now. VERY long story short.. I picked up my '97 on July 8th of '97, was carjacked 58 days later and the car was wrecked. It sat at the dealership until February of '98 waiting on an ECU, front fender, suspension parts, windshield.. etc. :

Give Tadge Juechter a call about your cracked windshield. I thought someone posted a phone number on the forum. If anyone can get a windshield to you it be Tadge.

I guess timing on the flat couldn't have been better. It happened just as I was pulling into our neighborhood so the air hissed out as it was in the garage, and I am having the wheels powdercoated tomorrow so they have to come off the rims anyway.

I'll see if they'll patch it as you suggested, George. Thank you.

Actually the correct repair is a combination plug and patch:
