This seems to be turning out to be an entire dealer network issue so here is the listing of Hendrick dealers to avoid:

Yea I was one of those that got bite by the hendrick snake. Guess others like my self told them where to stick their $5000 over MSRP. Shouldn't even come on here asking for business Myself and the others you tried to take are on here and will always remember the day Hendricks called and put the shaft to us. Get lost dan go sell all those C6's you were so busy with that you couldn't keep us updated.

We all read how Hendrick's screwed a customer over by jacking the price 5k after agreed upon purchase price, now you have the nerve to post allocations? Get lost!

The dealer even then offered to place the order back for the forum member at MSRP.
Just sayin' "Read the whole thread...not just the attack dog comments"

In reading the other thread, all I see as "Proof" from lawdogg149 is the following:
and
Nowhere in this "proof" do I see that the agreed upon pricing was MSRP. There is a reference to the MSRP of options, but that is it.
If there is other proof, I don't see it in that thread. Just calling it like I see it.
straight off the email from them:
Mr. May, Happy July 4th to you and yours!
Yesterday, General Motors gave us our largest consensus to order and based on your reservation, you can now place your order for a 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe!
Hope you are excited, as I am, that your day has finally arrived!
Attached you find these documents to help facilitate your order:
1.The GM order guide that will help clarify the options and features
2.An Excel Spreadsheet that will give you the pricing for the options and includes everything except:
1.The interior colors that you will need to identify with your order (see the C7 overview document)
2.The competition seat (not available until the Fall of 2013)
3.The 4000 credit card authorization form to submit with your order. This will be added to your 1000 and will ensure that you will have one of our allocated units. This 5000 is non-refundable.
Please identify what packages/features you would like to have via email, phone call, or stop by the dealership. We are open today until 6pm and tomorrow from 8:30am – 10:30pm.

And the spread sheet is the excel one that is on this forum. They couldn't even make up their own. No where and I mean No where does it say we are charging another $5000 over. That was done by the call yesterday.

My reservation form that I signed (and have a copy of) clearly states the price as MSRP - $1000 and I have it in writing.

The problem here is that regardless of whether the price was agreed upon in WRITING or not, and whether they finally agreed to sell it at MSRP to this customer, the dealer should never have sprung what they KNEW deep down would be an unwelcome and completely irritating surprise to this customer IN THE FIRST PLACE.
The dealer saw the C7 MSRP when it was finally released and predicted that the market could bear $5,000 over MSRP, so instead of honoring what they KNEW this customer expected HIS price to be, they jacked it up $5000.
Probably only after the dealership realized the backlash this incident would have, and that bad news spreads real fast in the Internet, they decided to sell it at MSRP to him.
Every singe action they took was self-serving. It is a shame that there are still some dealerships that give car dealers a bad name.
